Two little bandits

They're 2 little bandits, one in blue pant is Malcom, and cream pant is Lee. They're little Western bandits, without guns 😼

http://www.wolfdreameroth.com/2009/08/mario-plushie.html  thanks to the crocheter I got the idea. But my big problem was due to the difference in the size of the wool, I had to change rows of every part- face, body, hat, mustache, straps and so on. Our grandsons wanted these characters.

Granny Square Vest

I got the idea to do this vest for grand-daughter from the site below, but I joined it all in a line, at the back also I made with squares and half-squares for the neck and armhole also I got the pattern from this site. Then I did the edging, for which, I made sc around, then made 3 ch, in each ch, made sc, hdc and 5 dc, made sc in next ch loop and continued around. My thanks to the crocheter for sharing the pattern for squares and half-squares.The pattern you can see in the site mentioned below.

For the front joined 4X4 whole squares, then 2 half-squares on the side with 2 whole square in the centre, next row was 2 half-squares on the sides and 1 whole square in the centre, followed by only 2 rows of 1square each.
Each square was 2 1/2".  The total length was 18". So, as per the size required, you can choose the no. of squares you need, while in the site, you will note that the back is not done in squares.

Little Krishna- made with cotton thread

Our grand-daughter loves Lord Krishna, so made this little Krishna, so she can always carry with her.

I started with the legs, made 2 and joined
Magic circle, make 6 sc in it, I didn't join
R2- increase alternately, so you get 9 sc
R3- 11 sc in each sc, fasten off one leg
Repeat for the 2nd leg, once you finish till R 11
keep both legs together and join 2 sc together and continue on sc in each leg around, you'll have 18 sc in all, I changed colour to blue and continued on these 18 sc till about 10 rows, then decrease 3 sc in next row ( 15 sc)
Next row- decrease 3 more sc ( 12 sc)
Next row, sc, decrease around fasten off.

For head, magic circle, made 6 sc
R2- increase in each sc  12 sc
R3- sc, increase, repeat around, 18 sc
R4 18 sc around
 R5- 2 sc, increase around  24 sc
 R6- 3 sc, increase around   30 sc
 R7-9 30 sc
R10- start decreasing 6 sc in each round till 6 sc are left, fasten off.

For arms- make 2
Magic circle 6 sc
R2-  increase sc in alternate stitches, so you get 9 sc
R 3- R 11, sc in each sc around, fasten off.

I always prefer to join with thread the different parts of the body. Then for eyes, made a couple of French knots close by, for mouth, stitched around with red. Made with yellow, the tilak in U shape, sorry it is just below the crown.

For crown
made 12 ch, make sc in 2nd ch till end (11 sc)
in each row, start decreasing 1 sc in each end, till you're left with 1 sc, then I made sc around the sides and fasten off. Stitched the crown, only thing I'ld not add was a small peacock feather, as I didn't have time for that, as I wanted to give to grand-daughter before she left back home from here.

I had placed the Lord Krishna on my crochet cushion cover, it was the 2nd set which I had made, this one by putting some flowers and leaves around.

Short crazey shell jacket

Finished this jacket this morning, made for daughter, as she wanted to wear over one of her top. Hope it comes useful to her.

For this, according to the length needed plus, the back together, make chain, then see how the crazy shell is made, once the breadth from neck to shoulder is reached, you decide how much you need for arm-hole, then in those stitches continue the pattern till desired length of the sleeves. You need to make 2 like this, as it is joined in the centre at the back, then join for sleeves and sides. Then make whatever edgings you like.

Elephant Eyeglass Holder

The basic design is by Lisa Ferrel- since my wool was thin, I had to increase the number of rows, then decrease accordingly. The trunk  and the tusks are my own idea, as my daughter wanted a long trunk, as the elephant's trunk isn't the same size throughout, as I felt that was what was there in that pattern, I made the trunk and tusks as I felt will look better. Eyes, I make in all my amigurumi with crochet, mainly in magic circle, I make single crochet, depending on how big/ small I need the eyes to look. Made this for our son-in-law, hoping he'll use it to keep his glasses on it.

Motif and leaves on salwar suit

This motif is called Russian paisley and Paddingcord Leaves- the design is by Bizzy hands, so the credit should go to that designer.

Actually the motif in the pink salwar is sea green colour, to match with the darker blue kameez.

The only variation that I made in the design was, I didn't do my single crochet in the backloop as suggested. Thanks to Bizzy hands for sharing this pattern, my daughter liked it a lot and wanted it on her dress.

Penguin Bag

The idea I got from a site, but then as I made with almost double the no. of stitches, when it came to doing the penguin face shaping, had to think for myself. I made the feet bigger than what was mentioned in the site. I made a long handle using black and white wool, and joined the handle all around. The penguin's nose acts like a button !

Shark Cellphone bag

I made this shark cellphone bag for my grand-daughter, who loves animals and wanted this one when I showed her a similar pattern. But, I had to change a lot from the pattern, as felt the stitches were more as for the material I used, so, changed as what I felt was needed, so, for the teeth and other parts too, reduced and in the pattern for the shark teeth were not stitched, felt that they may easily tear as there were gaps in the final round of teeth, so I stitched it securely. The handle, I made with shaded cotton thread, felt so happy when granddaughter after returning from her classes said it looked so good. I can't ask for anything more, as the user is happy using it.

Graduation Teddy Bear

Made this for my grand-daughter, who is just finishing her 10th grade and coming next week to be with us during her holidays. It is a surprise for her, as when she was a baby, all that I made for her was baby blanket, booties, caps and some dresses, didn't know anything about amigurumi, which I learnt about 5 years ago, after my 1st grandson was born, thanks to our daughter-in-law, who showed me the sites for amigurumi, got me stuff while we went to UK and started. Of course, my 1st one a tiger was almost a flat guy, as if he was starved ! slowly learning how to improve seeing the various masters in this craft.

Thanks to the lady of this site for the pattern both of the teddy and the grad dress, cap etc. But, I had to make some little changes, esp. the grad dress, cap etc, as my teddy was much smaller in size than hers ! Anyway, isn't it good to use your brain too some time.

Little chocolate cone ice-cream for my keys !

Those who want to know how I made
for the cone
started with magic ring(MR) 6 sc
R1- sc in backloop of each sc
R2- sc, inc-- around ( 9 sc)
R3- 9 sc
R4 2 sc, inc.-- around  ( 12 sc)
R 5- sc around
R6 - 3 sc, inc. -- around ( 15 sc)
R7 & 8  15 sc , FO.

for the ice-cream, with whatever colour you like
MR 6 sc, next row, sc inc. in each - 12 sc
2 sc inc. around
3 sc, inc. around.
sc around, FO stuff both cone and top well, sew around
then made loop with 11 ch I think, sc in 2nd ch. from hook, in the last ch, 3 sc

I love ice-cream, sadly can't eat since a couple of years due to asthma. So, thought why not make myself a small chocolate cone ice-cream for my keys ! Could have put some chocolate chips too on it! to make chocolate chip, with dark brown thread make French knots, make few around or if you want white chocolate chips do with white thread, i.e. what I'm planning to do next!

good luck, do let me know how it looks.

Lord Ganesha

I'm a big fan of Lord Ganesha, have HIS photo in all the rooms. Made this small Ganesha for grandsons. Though I got idea from a site, changed a lot as I felt it right.
In HIS left hand, Ganesha is carrying his favourite food " modak"/ " kolakattai".

I had earlier made for myself a bigger Ganesha standing on a pedestal, made his " vahanam" -               " moonjoor" also on it.

Lord Vishnu

First my grandson't request was if I can make Lord Vishnu with 4 hands. Then slowly came other request, Lord should have long black hair, namam on the forehead, mace in one hand, flower in another hand, 3rd one with chakra and 4th hand conch shell.

Only thing modern Lord Vishnu, Hanuman and rishi, as when I tried to make like veshti, it didn't come out properly, tried it 3-4 times, then made them modern 21st C Gods with pants

Made the Lord Vishnu with my own idea after seeing his photo.

Durvasa rishi

Our grandson wanted me to make Durvasa rishi, as his mom tells him stories.

I made the kamandalam like a small pot with handle, then stitched it in his hand.

For the white beard, I had to break my head to do, saw one, then accordingly had to crochet to fit this head. Anyway, grandson wanted me to use my brain, so I'll keep dementia at bay at least for the time being !
I make eyes with crochet only, as one of the 1st animals that I had made with eyes bought from the shop, the  little boy pulled out both the eyes with turning and twisting it, from then one decided to crochet, so kids can't pull it out !

It was really fun making the rishi and the other amigurumi, as it was a challenge for me, if I can make what my grandson wanted. Happy by seeing the photos, he has approved, as it will be sent to him soon. Earlier, made only animals for my grandsons, now comes demand for Gods !

Snakes

started with MR with 5 sc
then increased in each sc in next row (10)
increased in every 2nd st. (15)
continued in 15 sc till 5/6"
then I increased 3 evenly around, continued till the desired length
if anyone is interested, kindly msg, shall tell you how I made the head and the fangs
Snakes are my own creation.

Jai Veer Hanuman

This Hanuman is my own idea by looking at some photos in the net.
Legs 2
For the Hanuman to stand after doing MR with 8 sc
R1- 2 sc in each sc ( 16sc)
R2- (1 sc, 2 sc in next) rep. till the end ( 24 )
R3- sc in back loops only
R4- sc in both loops
at this point, I inserted a plastic bottle lid, by cutting it to fit it
next few rows was sc in each
then I decreased about 3 sc in next row,
sc in next row
again decreased 3 sc in next row evenly placed and continued till the length I wanted

After doing both legs to the desired length, I joined in the middle and sc around both legs together
3-4 rows sc around , then I increased 3/4 sc evenly around for the next 2 rows
continued with sc around for 4/5 rows, then started decreasing evenly placed in each row till 12 sc were left

Of course, as you do the legs, start stuffing to get the shape, then continue stuffing once you join and do the body.

Arms 2
I think I started with MR with 6 sc
then increased in each sc
then every 2 sc increased to get 18 sc, continued with 18 sc for the next 5/6 rows
then I decreased 3 sc I think evenly placed
next row, did 6 sc with both loops, in the remaining 6 sc in back loops hdc
I continued with 6 sc,  hdc in 6 for 3 more rows
then sc around for another 4 rows I think
arms I didn't stuff much, so it can bend

Head
MR 6 sc
R1 inc. in each sc (12)
R 2- sc 1, increase rep. around ( 18)
R3-sc 2, increase - rep. around ( 24)
R4- sc 3, inc.- rep. around ( 30)
R5- sc 4, inc. -rep. around (36)
R6- R7  sc 36
R8- sc 5, inc. -rep. around (42)
R9- sc 42
R10- sc 5 , dec. - rep around (36)
R11- sc 4, dec. - rep around (30)
R 12- sc 3, dec.- rep. around ( 24)
R 13- sc 2, dec.- rep. around (18)
R 14- sc 1, dec. -rep. around (12)
R15- dec. in alternate (9)
stuff well to get the shape.

for hair, with black, I made ch of 12/ 14 alternately, stitched it around
On the fore-head with red thread made the " namam"
lips did with red thread
for the mouth bulging on both sides - made 2
with orange made MR with  6 sc, then sc in back loop of each, FO
I stuffed it, stitched on both sides

For the mace/ gada"
I made like a small ball, then instead of FO, I continued to crochet in 5/ 6 sc stuffing lightly to the length I needed
I made the crown, then small mountain in his left hand.

Joined the parts
for tail, I made MR with 4/5 sc, then sc around to the length I wanted, stitched it at the back.

LITTLE BAG KEYCHAIN

I made a chain having 13 , in 2nd chain from hook, made sc and sc around, 3 sc in last sc and sc on each st on the other side and 2 sc in the last st. join.

R2- made sc in the backloop of each st., increased 2 sc in the corner

R3- 10 or so, sc in the each st, around, then made the flap, made a small buttonhole leaving 2 st, with chain over them and sc in the next row and FO.

Made a loop with about 11 ch, 10 sc for 2 rows, stitched on top putting the keychain through it.

Actually made for backpack two loops, but decided against putting those loops, as I preferred the small bag, one can put some change or tablet in it too ! or can use it to put a note !
