Little elephant keychain

This pattern I got from Amigurumi site, but as usual, the trunk, eyes, legs, arms are mine, as I had to make slight alteration. Eyes with crochet only. Then keychain with button is my idea.

A :ittle Elephant for Hanging in a bag

This  elephant pattern is from Amigurumi site, with me making changes in its trunk, eyes. I've inserted a small plastic strip by which it helps to bend its trunk nicely.  Made a strap with buttonhole, which is my own idea to hang in a bag, If one gets bored can keep changing the animal. Eyes with crochet chain, made sc on it, joined, fasten off. then while stitching it, I pull and adjust to get the correct  size and shape.

Tiny elephant with flower for keychain

I made this elephant with a flower for key chain for my daughter. You all know that I'm a big devotee of Lord Ganesha, who is called the Elephant God too ! So, made for me only elephant, no flower, with flower for my daughter, with football for son/ grandson !

Elephant Eyeglass Holder

The basic design is by Lisa Ferrel- since my wool was thin, I had to increase the number of rows, then decrease accordingly. The trunk  and the tusks are my own idea, as my daughter wanted a long trunk, as the elephant's trunk isn't the same size throughout, as I felt that was what was there in that pattern, I made the trunk and tusks as I felt will look better. Eyes, I make in all my amigurumi with crochet, mainly in magic circle, I make single crochet, depending on how big/ small I need the eyes to look. Made this for our son-in-law, hoping he'll use it to keep his glasses on it.

I made this by cutting hubby's t-shirt into strips, only the tusks and eyes are made with wool ! as it was thick, my hand hurt making it, also while joining the eyes, ears, trunk, tusks etc. can be used to put some fruits, candies, whatever one feels like.

elephant- finger puppet

ch- chain, inc.- increase 1 sc in next sc, sl st.- slip stitch

note- that all parts are worked in continuous rounds, so have stitch marker to know the beginning of each round.

for the body
magic circle- ch 6
R 1- inc, 1 sc, rep. 9 sc at the end of the round
R 2- inc, 1 sc in next 2 sc, rep. , you'll have 12 sc at the end of the round
R-3-10  sc in each around, sl st, fasten off at the end of the round
note- in case you want it longer, you're free to do a few more rounds.

ears make 2
magic circle-  6 sc
inc. in each sc, i.e. 12 sc at the end, fasten off.

eyes- either make a magic circle 3 sc, sl st. fasten off, pull very tight  OR
you can make 3 ch, join to 1st sc, fasten off, pull tight
either way, after you've made, with black thread, pull tight from each side, then attach to the correct place in the project.
Why I preferred to make such eyes is, when I had made with ready-made eyes for a fish & gave it to a 2 + year old boy to play, the first thing he did was to pull out both eyes, by twisting it well !

for trunk
make 3 ch, join
sc in each sc
sc, inc., sc
continue in those 4 sc as long as you want the trunk to be
stitch the trunk slightly below the eyes, shape the trunk.

join the ears on either side of the face.
there your puppet is ready to entertain the kids.

feel free to ask for any queries, as in most post, I forget to describe when I make changes in the design too, then I forget how I made. Now, as my memory is still fresh from making it now, thought best to write it down for those interested in the puppet.

For eyes for the elephant, I made by making 2 consecutive knots in the wool, then stitched around to tighten it, then I stitched the eye, as elephants have very small eyes compared to their bodies.

Amigurumi elephant

the trunk, I've given shape, so that it tapers down from top, like it is for real elephants, which wasn't in the original design.
the tail is my own idea.
the legs too, are my design, where in the original it was given much smaller, top to bottom same size, I've made the legs longer, made the back ones fatter than the front, their size also goes from small to big, again smaller.

This isn't my own design fully, but I've changed the shape of the trunk, legs, tail, the way, I started it all is my own idea.
