Baby afghan blanket in basketweave stitch



I started with 1 multiple of 8 + 4 stitches
I made a chain of 164 stitches for this
in 2nd Row- started with ch 3, then dc till the end
In 3rd Row- ch.3 ( at the beginning of all rows ch 3) and also at the end of all rows dc
then 4 fpdc, 4 bpdc , till the end, finish with a dc last
in 4th row, start with ch 3, then 4 bpdc, 4 fpdc till the end, last dc
repeat 3 and 4th row for 2 more rows
next row5, start with ch 3, 4 bpdc, 4 fpdc, rep. till the end,end with dc
next row6 ch 3, 4 fpdc, 4 bpdc, till the end, then dc
repeat. the last2 rows for 2 more rows
then repeat from row 3 till8 till the desired length
for edging- make hdc between each st all around, with 3 hdc in each corner st.
join with sl st to first sc

 next row, ch 3, sc in next 2 stitches, rep. from the beginning till the end, sl st to join
every ch is a loop
next row, ch 3, 2 dc in the loop, sc in next loop, * 3 dc ch 2, 3 dc in next loop, sc in next loop * rep. from * to * till the end ending with 3 dc and ch 2 in the first loop.
fasten off, weave in the ends.

hdc- half double crochet
sc- single crochet
dc. double crochet
fpdc- front post double crochet
bpdc- back post double crochet
sl. st. slip stitch

Rose Flower Afghan

This afghan measuring 6'/ 5' roughly was made some years ago, only now putting it in the blog. It is in cream background, with roses, leaves in between. I made 2 like this for my kids, this is in son's house.

crochet afghan

This was the 1st afghan made by me almost 2 decades ago, this is 6' long & 5' broad.
this was made by making the blue squares, which were joined together with the next color, then each row was done on back loop only to get the ridge effect. you can do the same with any no. of colors or single color of ur choice.

Afghan Square Crochet Bag

This is an 8" square afghan. I made 2, for front & back, made a 2" handle to go all around the bottom & the sides. As I'm bad in stitching, asked a tailor to put the zip, pockets. Made a small design on the top.
